I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best. Oscar Wilde
There’s brunch. And then there’s a Wilde brunch. Hosted at The Wilde on 27 at the Dorian Hotel one Sunday a month, this decadent brunch offers views that are as delicious as the food. Whether it’s carved tomahawk steak, the seafood bar, flaky pastries or a-la-carte small plates, this brunch has something for everyone. With a DJ spinning beats, the sun-drenched dining room comes alive with vibrant conversation, the clinking of cutlery and the more than occasional “mmmmm.”
We loved the crab salad in a crispy puff shell from the seafood station, which is anchored by an alluring oyster bar at which swirling dry ice keeps horseradish pearls intact until the moment of consumption. The cheese cart features a vast array of Canadian and international cheeses and we were served by executive chef Josh Dyer himself. The sweet tooth will appreciate the lemon ricotta pancakes, which just happen to be this month’s “Master Class” on Page 16! The next available dates for reservations are March 19 and April 9.
