Whether you like it mild or spicy, there are many varieties of salsa available locally. You can use it as a dip, bake it on chips or stuff it in chicken – salsa is so versatile. It’s also a crowd pleaser at any party. Here are some local vendors to help you indulge in some flavour explosions. Olé!

Tres Marias

Located in Marda Loop, Tres Marias has an assortment of salsas for you to enjoy. You will have a hard time choosing from their many offerings which include Pico de Gallo, Avocado Salsa, Mango Salsa, Red Salsa, Salsa Verde and Enchilada Salsa. They also have an assortment of chips so you can get dipping.

Chilito’s – Taberna Mexicana

Calgary Farmers’ Market | 510, 77 Ave. S.E.

Head on over to the Calgary Farmer’s Market South where you will find Chilito’s, the perfect place to get your taco or enchilada fix. You can find a variety of salsas there which include Pico de Gallo, Salsa Verde, Salsa Ranchero and Mango Salsa. They even have a Salsa Macha, a salsa made with a variety of dried peppers, nuts and oil.

Molacajete

It is at Crossroads Market where you will find Molacajete, a restaurant serving authentic Mexican and Latino foods. Their assortment of house made salsas include Mango, Coconut, Cilantro, Tres Chiles and Pico de Gallo. Their Salsa Negra is smoky, made with dried Mexican chilies, garlic, onions, and spices. All their salsas go great with their fresh watermelon juice!

Moose and Poncho

Moose and Poncho is serving up authentic Mexican cuisine at the First Street Market. Their salsas include Mango Pineapple Habanero, a medium Salsa Roja and a mild Salsa Verde. Grab some chips to go with along with the salsa and finish up with a sweet treat of churros.

Sabores

You can find Sabores at a few locations in the city including Calgary Famer’s Market West.  You can grab a Mexican breakfast at any time of the day along with a wide variety of salsas. While you will find the usual Pico de Gallo and Red Salsa, they offer some unique flavours as well. These include Cactus, Cranberry and Chipotle, Peanut Salsa, Orange Salsa, Maya Salsa, and Yellow Habanero Salsa.
