Gingerbread spiced nuts are a perfect sweet and spicy snack for the holidays. Pour into pretty jars, tie with a bright holiday ribbon and give as a gift. Or make a batch to put into bowls for holiday snacking.

Gingerbread Spiced Nuts

This recipe makes 4 cups of spiced nuts

Ingredients

  • 4 cups assorted unsalted nuts (cashews, almonds, pecans, walnuts)
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1.5 tsp sea salt
  • 2.5 tsp gingerbread spice mix (recipe below)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 150 C (300 F.) In a bowl, combine vegetable oil, maple syrup, sea salt and gingerbread spice mix. Add nuts and toss to coat. Spread nuts evenly onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, tossing halfway. Let cool before serving.

Gingerbread Spice Mix

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice, ground
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cloves, ground
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg, ground

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a jar and shake.
