Respect the Technique Bento Pop-Up

Local chefs Kaede Hirooka and Jonathan Chung have partnered with Duncan Ly to offer a bimonthly bento box pop-up out of Takori Avenida. We tried the braised pork-rib katsu box featuring red miso soup with nappa cabbage, braised pork rib katsu, Japanese potato salad, rayu-marinated tomatoes, dashimaki tamago, pickled daikon and umeboshi on rice with black sesames. It. Was. Amazing. These two are masters of texture, colour, balance and umami that left us wishing we had another box for dessert. Also – they’re just $14.
