
THE Holiday Cookie: Shortbread
If there’s one cookie that goes hand in hand with Christmas, it has to be shortbread cookies. Buttery and not overly sweet, they are easy to make and loved by everyone. They are great for the dessert table and a welcome addition at your cookie swap. Wrap them in a box and they make a delicious edible gift for friends or neighbours.
Shortbread Cookies
THE Christmas Cookie is Shortbread
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- ½ cup icing sugar
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 ½ cups flour
- sprinkles, optional
Instructions
- Cream the butter and icing sugar.
- Add in the cornstarch and flour and beat until a dough forms.
- Form balls from the dough and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
- Press each dough ball down with a fork and add sprinkles if you are adding them.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
