Fresh Market Pro Tip – Berries

I freeze berries of all kinds, especially when they are a tad past their prime and then cook them all together to make a fruit sauce for topping almost anything; try lemon pound cake. Put the frozen berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries) in a saucepan with a little orange or lemon juice. A little frozen rhubarb is a nice addition if there’s some lurking about. Cook down until you have a saucy consistency. Have a taste and add sugar to your liking. Continue to cook until sugar is dissolved.
