Cream the butter and sugars until well combined.
Add the vanilla and mix until incorporated.
Add the flour, salt and cinnamon and once the dough starts coming together and pulling away from the bowl, add in the pecans.
Divide the dough into 24 balls and place on a parchment-lined sheet, spaced apart.
Press down each ball with the bottom of a glass.
If you are topping with a pecan, press the nut down on each cookie.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy.
