Village Calgary's dog-friendly ice cream returns

Village Ice Cream’s dog-friendly treat is back for another summer, and pups across Calgary are already digging in.

Released earlier this week, Freddie’s Cheesy Cracker is now scooping at all five locations, with $1 from every pint and scoop going to support animals in need.

Back for Another Tail-Wagging Summer: Village’s Dog-Friendly Ice Cream Returns with Award-Winning Design, Canine-Inspired Recipe, and Real Community Impact

Village Ice Cream is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved Dogs of Village ice cream pint, a dog-safe frozen treat launching across all five Village locations. This year’s flavour, Freddie’s Cheesy Cracker, was inspired by a local pup with a passion for snack time and comes packaged in Village’s Gold Anvil Award-winning pint design.

Specially formulated to be safe and satisfying for dogs, this limited-edition treat does more than just bring joy to pups, it gives back. For every pint and scoop of Freddie’s Cheesy Cracker sold, $1 will be donated to the Canadian Animal Task Force (CATF), a volunteer-driven organization committed to supporting companion animals and enhancing community safety. Thanks to last year’s sales, Village funded 50 additional spay and neuter surgeries and vaccinations for animals in need, a milestone the team hopes to top in 2025.

The dog-friendly ice cream will be available in scoops and in the now-iconic Dogs of Village pint cup at all five Village Ice Cream locations, from July 19 through to the September long weekend, while supplies last.
