Learn about and taste test the winter hardy radicchio!

Are you interested in growing radicchio? Join us to learn how to grow this winter hardy, leafy chicory with Poplar Bluff Organics! Solveig Hanson from the University of British Columbia will share information about the radicchio variety trials in Alberta and weed, disease, pest, and general management of the variety. Poplar Bluff Organics is trialing ten varieties of radicchio, so you will have an up-close view of how radicchio grows in Alberta.

Do you want to taste some radicchio? It is not common to come across radicchio in Alberta grocery stores, so this will be your opportunity to taste five different varieties of radicchio with Chef Kathleen Van Ihinger!

Poplar Bluff Organics will also be giving a tour of their farm, where they grow and package potatoes, carrots, beets, and more for grocery stores, delivery services, and restaurants! Check out their farm here.

Whether you are interested in touring Poplar Bluff Organics, growing, or sampling radicchio, all are welcome for this fun field day!
