Andrew’s cohost for this Blended Scotch Whisky tasting will be James Bornn. That in itself is not unusual – James has been Andrew’s sidekick more than once – but what is unusual is that, even though he represents Compass Box, most of the whiskies in this somewhat unusual range fall outside of his portfolio. The core of this tasting is the range of Compass Box whiskies created for the La Maison du Whisky’s (France) Pentalogy Quintet, which neither Andrew or James have ever tried. So, during a conversation about something else, waaaaaay down a rabbit hole, the idea for a tasting was born. You will sample Compass Box Confidence, Fortitude, Generosity, and Wisdom, along with Cadenhead Enigma 25 Year, White Heather 21 Year, Compass Box Flaming Heart, and Lum Reek 21 Year. A ragtag range of interesting blends, and a fairly unconventional lineup!
