Tuscan Pop-Up La Buca Takes Over Modern Steak
This month, Calgary’s iconic Modern Steak invites guests to experience La Buca. This exclusive Tuscan steakhouse pop-up brings the rustic elegance of Florence’s traditional dining culture to Alberta’s premier steakhouse. Inspired by the time-honoured trattorias of Tuscany, La Buca offers a rich culinary journey anchored by a menu designed by Chef Michael Scarcelli, Executive Chef of Lusi. The six-course tasting menu includes handmade pastas and exceptional cuts of Alberta Prime beef, each dish highlighting the best of authentic Italian cuisine ($159+tax and gratuity). Guests can elevate the experience with optional Tuscan wine pairings ($54), thoughtfully selected to complement each course. La Buca runs Thursday to Sunday throughout September at Modern Steak Stephen Avenue (100 8 Ave SE) and Modern Steak Southport (10606 Southport Road SW).
Chef Michael Scarcelli, Executive Chef of Lusi Italian Kitchen and Pizzeria and former Chef at Modern Steak has returned to bring his love of Italian food and culinary expertise for this limited-time pop-up.
Alongside this incredible Tuscany-inspired menu, wines such as Valdicava, Mazzei and Il Borro, as well as an extensive by-the-bottle list of Chianti, Super Tuscans and Brunello di Montalcino, has been curated for the true wine lover. Modern Steak has also created a Tuscan-inspired cocktail list, including creations like Vin Santo Manhattan, Rosemary & Olive Oil Martini and a La Pesca Spritz.
