Made by Marcus Takes Soft Serve for a Dip
Made by Marcus and Terroir Artisan Butter are pleased to announce the launch of a new limited-edition butter-dipped soft serve cone, bringing one of the internet’s most talked-about dessert trends to Alberta.
The collaboration pairs Made by Marcus’s signature house-made soft serve ice cream with Terroir Artisan Butter’s premium cultured butter. The cone begins with Made by Marcus’s house-made soft serve base, served in a freshly made waffle cone, dipped in gently melted Terroir Artisan Butter and then finished with flaky sea salt. As the warm butter meets the cold soft serve, it creates a thin, hard shell around the ice cream, adding a rich and decadent texture to the cone. Finished with flaky sea salt, the result is a balanced, indulgent treat that brings together sweet, salty, creamy and crisp in one bite.
The butter-dipped soft serve cone will be available for a limited time beginning August 5, 2026 in Calgary at Made by Marcus Inglewood, 1119 10th Avenue SE. The butter-dipped soft serve trend has attracted global attention online for its unexpected combination of rich dairy, cold soft serve, tangy cultured butter, crisp waffle cone and flaky sea salt. This Alberta version brings the idea home by using locally made ingredients and the craftsmanship of two Alberta food brands.
Made by Marcus is one of Alberta’s most beloved ice cream makers, known for premium ice creams, creative flavours and eight scoop shops across the province. The brand has built a loyal following for its high-quality ingredients, house-made approach and playful seasonal releases. Terroir Artisan Butter is a Calgary-based producer of premium cultured butter made with 100% Canadian ingredients. The company starts with Alberta A2 grass-fed cream, cultures it for 48 hours, kneads and salts it with Salt Spring Island sea salt, then shapes each block using teak butter paddles before wrapping it by hand in its signature blue chinoiserie butter paper.
