While you can also find the classics like soft serve and banana splits here, it’s only at Inglewood Drive-In that you will find tangy Dole Whip. The drive-in is a staple in the Inglewood community and Dole Whip has quite the reputation!

Love at First Scoop
Inspired by their love story, Immy and Fozia opened Love At First Scoop. They now have 3 locations: Carrington, Calgary Farmers Market West and their newest, Crossroads Market. They offer premium, old-fashioned, barrel-churned ice cream and sorbets served in handmade waffle cones.

Lukes Drug Mart
While you wouldn’t normally expect ice cream from a drug store, Lukes Drug Mart is not your ordinary drug store. You can find a new soft serve every month and their flavours are definitely not run of the mill. Past flavours like Banana Cream Pie, Lemon Yuzu and Cassis will give you the idea.

Made By Marcus
Discover some very unique flavours at Made By Marcus like Peach Blackberry Habanero and Roasted Strawberry Buttermilk. The ice cream is made from scratch with honest ingredients and innovative flavours. Watch for the Made By Marcus cookbook, coming in the fall! 

Monster Kakigori
New to the dessert scene is Monster Kakigori. Find them at Dragon City Mall right in Chinatown. While shaved ice is their specialty, the ice cream dish to try is the Mont Blanc Ice Cream Sando. It consists of purple yam and 3 scoops of ice cream (choice of matcha, black sesame and vanilla), all presented in a classic Japanese sweet bread called melon pan.

My Favourite Ice Cream Shoppe
Serving Calgary since 1981, My Favourite Ice Cream Shoppe in Marda Loop and West 85th Street is a Calgary instution. Get a taste of nostalgia at their original location on 42nd Avenue SW with their retro décor and coin-operated horses. With over 70 flavours, it’s definitely hard to decide!

Noto Gelato
Indulge in the sweet taste of Italy at Noto Gelato. Their handcrafted gelato is made with the finest imported ingredients using expert Italian technique. Some of their flavours include Nutella, Coconut and Lemon Meringue. They even have sorbetto in a variety of flavours like Strawberry Prosecco and Mango.

Parlour Ice Cream
Started in Kelowna, Parlour can be found in East Village offering some amazing must-try flavours. Ingredients are sourced locally, and they even have some vegan options so that everyone can enjoy. Be sure to try one of their staples like Lavender, London Fog or Cookie Monster.

Righteous Gelato
While you can find Righteous Gelato in many stores across Canada, a visit to their Gelato Factory is a must! Not only can you see where the magic happens, you can try a gelato flight – a sample of six flavours from the gelato case.

XO Ice Cream & Waffles
Located in Auburn Bay, XO is a modern-day interpretation of the traditional mom-and-pop shop. While they have the classics like chocolate and cookie dough, they mix it up with interesting flavours like dill pickle and mini donut.

Village Ice Cream
What started as one ice cream shop in East Village in 2012, Village Ice Cream has grown to 5 locations throughout the city.  Along with their ‘Always’ flavours, they offer new seasonals every month. Their sundaes are divine, and they even have a special Carrots and Cream ice cream just for the pups.

Abbey’s Creations
If you are looking for some bold and exotic flavours, Abbey’s is a place you won’t want to miss. With nine locations around the city, there is sure to be one close to you. Their flavours include Peach Mango Pie, Tahini Grilled Coconut and Churro Crunch, and they serve both hard and soft serve.
