Notes

Tip: I’ve made this martini several times at home in the last year and have found that fresh-brewed espresso provides the best flavour. Variations include swapping vanilla vodka for chocolate vodka or using a cinnamon simple syrup for extra flavour.
Simple Syrup:
To make simple syrup: Pour 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water into a small saucepan and put on the stove over medium heat. Stir until warm and sugar has entirely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks. For cinnamon simple syrup, add 1 cinnamon stick lightly bashed to the sugar and water. Let it sit in the syrup while it cools down. Strain before pouring into airtight container.
