Holiday Magic Awaits at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge

The iconic Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge (the Lodge) is thrilled to announce its Merry Kananaskis programming for the 2024 holiday season! From December 1, 2024 – January 5, 2025, the Lodge will be bustling with festivities and family friendly activities like Polar Express Train; Elf Tuck-In (for the kids); Visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus; Meet Santa’s Reindeer; Winter Wonderland Cocktail Class. Many children’s activities are supervised, allowing parents to relax and unwind around the Lodge, or during their time at the spa. Adding to the festivities, PARK Production House will transform the Lodge’s façade and public spaces around the hotel’s Fireside Moments area into a life-size gingerbread village. Immersive installations inside the hotel include a photo-ready ski gondola, mailbox for letters to Santa with special delivery to the North Pole, and more. Created by local artists Natalia Ionescu, Aly Tucker, Jean Gole, Vanja Kragulj, Kate Beck and the PARK team, the displays will add whimsy to an already stunning mountain setting. In addition to the gingerbread village, Chef Sebastien Roelly and Pastry Chef Paola Errugola Paz will build an 8-foot replica of the Lodge made completely out of real gingerbread baked in-house. The replica will be displayed in the Lodge throughout the holiday season.

And, of course, what could be more magical than ringing in the New Year in the mountains? Children can enjoy a fun-filled, supervised party with games, activities and countdown, while adults can partake in the Crackling Kananaskis Countdown — a special event with a champagne toast, canapes, outdoor fires, ice bar, cocktails, live music and more — all under the twinkling stars. A fireworks display will light up the night sky at 9:00 p.m. for younger guests and again when the clock strikes midnight.
