Nuts and bolts is a savoury and addictive snack mix, also known as “party mix”, often enjoyed during parties, gatherings, games, or holidays. It typically consists of a mixture of various crunchy and flavourful ingredients, and the mixture can vary based on personal preferences and regional recipes.
This Halloween version adds the sweetness of seasonal candy, making a ghoulish savoury and sweet mix. Great for Halloween entertaining or fill up some bags for your favourite goblins.
Halloween Nuts and Bolts
For this mix, the sweet comes from candy corn, pumpkin candies and seasonally- coloured Reese’s pieces, but any kind of candy will do.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cheese nibs
- 1 cup Cheetos
- 1 cup cheddar Goldfish
- 1 cup Chex cereal
- 1 cup Cheerios cereal
- 1 cup pretzels
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 cup mixed Halloween candies
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients.
- Melt the butter with the spices and pour over the dry ingredients.
- Give it a good mix and then pour on to a baking sheet.
- Bake at 250 F. degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Once the mixture has cooled, add in the Halloween candy and mix well.
