Spud’s reverse food drive will support Indigenous communities this holiday season

The holidays can be stressful for many, and the last thing people should be worried about is food insecurity. That’s why Spud is holding a Reverse Food Drive, conveniently built into its existing delivery and pick up service.

Known for its high-quality ingredients and local food ties, Spud is making it easy to give back this holiday season. From now until December 2, customers interested in contributing can simply unload their regular delivery order and then fill the bin back up with non-perishable items before putting the bin on their front step for pick up. Then, Spud utilizes its existing delivery network to pick up the donations.

Spud has partnered with Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth in Calgary. High-quality items received will ensure that youth have access to the healthy food they need.

Donations can include, but are not limited to:

  • Shelf-stable items like pasta and rice
  • Jarred/canned pasta sauces
  • Granola bars, cereal, nut butter, popcorn, crackers
  • Juice boxes, shelf-stable plant-based milk
  • Canned soup and food (beans, vegetables, fruit, tuna)
