cranberry lime spritz

The new year has arrived and along with it, Dry January. It’s a great opportunity to engage in a reset to help kick-start a healthier lifestyle, while bidding adieu to all the indulgences enjoyed during the holiday season.

Embracing the refreshing spirit of the new year has us conjuring up some tasty and innovative concoctions, redefining the art of abstaining from alcoholic beverages. Plus, it’s fun to shake up some mocktails the next time you gather with friends and family. Here’s one to impress your guests.

Cranberry Lime Spritz Mocktail

We like to use 3 tablespoons of lime juice in this recipe. However more or less could be used depending on your taste buds. Feel free to experiment, too, like swapping out lemon for lime. Serve this mocktail in a beautiful glass to set the mood.

Notes

Simple Syrup
We like to use a 1 to 1 ratio when making simple syrup. It’s an easy process and can be flavoured using fresh herbs, berries, citrus, spicy peppers or even spices. It will keep in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to a week and can also be used to sweeten tea or coffee.
1 cup white sugar
1 cup filtered water
Pour sugar and water into a small pot, stir to combine and bring to a boil. Drop heat down to a simmer, continuing to stir until all sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely before using.
