With the transition into Fall, we are craving comfort. Cheese rolls make the perfect comfort food. The soft dough is made with eggs and is buttery and fluffy. Cheddar cheese and spices are found in each and every bite making them full of flavour. These make a great snack and are also a welcome addition to any lunch box.

Cheese Rolls

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 2 ½ cups cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • parsley


  • Microwave the milk for 45 to 60 seconds.
  • Dissolve the yeast in warm milk in a large bowl.
  • Add sugar and yeast and mix well. Then add butter, salt, eggs and flour.
  • Allow the dough to come together with the dough hook of the mixer.
  • Place the ball of dough into a bowl that is sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Cover the bowl with a towel and let rise in a warm place for an hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle.
  • Spread the melted butter on the dough and then sprinkle on the cheese and seasoning.
  • Roll up the dough starting with the longer side and cut into 12 rolls.
  • Place the rolls in a lightly greased pan and let rise for another 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Garnish with dried parsley.
