dragon fruit martini

This vibrant Dragon Fruit Martini is a fusion of the exotic looking dragon fruit, premium vodka or gin and a splash of fresh lime.

A visually stunning cocktail, it offers a sophisticated blend of flavours and discovery in every sip.

For the grown-ups, I think a martini is an excellent showcase for this intriguing fruit. I found this recipe online at The Spruce Eats – made it, drank it, enjoyed it. With a manageable outlay of cash, no prep to speak of and almost instant gratification, this drink will evoke the tropics and push back the winter gloom.

Chopped dragon fruit is blended with sugar, vodka or gin, fresh lime juice and coconut milk resulting in a refreshing tropical cocktail that is both tasty and easy on the eyes.

  • 1 ripe dragon fruit, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup vodka or gin, your favourite brand
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tbsp sugar or simple syrup
  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk, optional
  • 1 splash Grenadine, optional for colour

  • Place fruit in blender with the other ingredients and blend for about 30 seconds, just until smooth. Taste and adjust the flavour to your liking (lime juice, sugar, gin, coconut milk).
  • Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with a slice of lime and/or a slice of unpeeled (to show the pink) dragon fruit. It’s as fun to make as it is to drink.
