London Fog Hot Chocolate

Steeped Earl Grey tea and milk chocolate are blended with steamed milk to make a warm, creamy hot chocolate with light citrus notes.

Ingredients

Whipped Cream

  • 1/2 cup whipping cream, 1 tbsp icing sugar (adjusted), 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Hot Chocolate

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate, finely chopped, plus extra for garnish

Garnish

  • 4 orange peel shavings and 4 slightly crushed lavender buds

Instructions

  • Whisk the whipping cream, icing sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  • Heat the milk in a small pot over medium heat until almost boiling. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes.
  • Squeeze and remove the tea bags. Return the pot to the stove over low heat. Add the vanilla, salt, and chopped chocolate. Stir constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and silky.
  • Pour equally into two cups.
  • Pipe or dollop the whipped cream over the top. Finish with orange peels, a sprinkle of lavender, and grated chocolate.
