Winter’s warmest hug
Calgary Meals on Wheels is gearing up to kick off the 14th Anniversary of YYC Hot Chocolate Fest on February 1st.
YYC’s Sweetest Festival has always been about community and every year, Calgarians get together to support local businesses – the heart of our city – while helping to ensure all our neighbours are well-fed.
Calgary’s sweetest competition will run for the entire month of February, encouraging Calgarians to brave the winter weather for the love of chocolate. Striving to win the coveted titles of YYC’s Best Hot Chocolate, Best Spirited Hot Chocolate, Most Creative Hot Chocolate (new for 2024) and special Cup That Runneth Over Award, over 115 vendors with upwards of 200 participating cafés, restaurants, and chocolatiers will create one-of-a-kind creations for Calgarians to enjoy. Who will be crowned YYC’s Best Hot Chocolate? That’s up to our community! Attendees can rate each hot chocolate they try either on the website or via the app, available on the App Store and Google Play.
The marshmallow on top? A portion of the proceeds from each cup will benefit Calgary Meals on Wheels – a sweet opportunity for our community to make a difference by helping to ensure that our city is well-fed. In recent years, this event has become one of Calgary Meals on Wheels’ largest and most integral fundraisers.
