Phizzy Dirty Sodas

What started as a conversation between Fresh Kitchen owner Paul Morissette and his kids has turned into one of Marda Loop’s most colourful new additions. Phizzy Dirty Sodas, born out of a desire for a fun neighbourhood destination for innovative cold drinks, is an extension of Fresh Kitchen — a community staple for more than 17 years. Executive Chef Josh Jones oversees the catering, grab-and-go meals and fresh local ingredients sourced from Alberta farmers and producers. The sodas are a natural and energetic extension of that foundation, adding a highly customizable, nostalgic cold drink experience to everything Morisette and his team already do well. During our visit we took home the beef meatballs with tomato basil sauce, cold beet salad, panko crusted mac and cheese and Granny Smith apple crisp which we thoroughly enjoyed that evening. We wanted to try almost everything on the soda menu but settled on the Fast Times at Ridgemont High soda, a combination of Mountain Dew, pineapple, blue raspberry and strawberry coconut cream. We also had to sample a non-soda variety like the refreshing and delicious Jamtart, a perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day.
