Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup featuring a flavourful broth, noodles, thinly sliced meat, and herbs. It’s a comforting and balanced soup that is customizable. Ramen is a Japanese noodle soup consisting of noodles, a variety of broth and toppings.

Pho Dau Bo
International Avenue is where you will find Pho Dau Bo, a favourite of many. Their noodle soups are prepared with long-cooked beef broth and served with bean sprouts, basil and lime on the side. Try Pho Sate Bo, their spicy peanut soup with beef or chicken.
Pho City
Located in Chinatown and in Chestermere, Pho City is a family-owned restaurant established in 2021. Their Pho Satay Lobster is the ultimate indulgence. It features a succulent lobster tail (or two), surrounded by a rich broth.
Pho Pham
Pho Pham has two locations for you to enjoy their delicious pho. Visit the original in Signal Hill or their newly opened location in the University District. Pho Pham is the evolution of the original restaurant, Pho Hoan Pasteur. Try their best seller, the House Special with steak, brisket, tendon, tripe and meatball.
Pure Street Food
While there are plenty of options at First Street Market, Pure Street Food has you covered for your pho cravings. Their chicken pho is available in regular and spicy sate and served in a light, clear broth with mixed vegetables, green onion, cilantro, sprouts and ginger fish sauce. You can choose poached or crispy chicken.
Pho Mr. Q.
Originally known as Pho Huong Viet Pho, Pho Mr. Q has been around since 2022. Their Crowfoot location has an extensive pho menu including the popular Beef Back Rib Sate Pho. You can’t go wrong with a giant beef rib in a spicy, flavourful broth.
Tamarind Vietnamese Grill & Noodle House
Tamarind Vietnamese Grill & Noodle House is a family run vegan restaurant focusing on house made tofu and noodles. They feature an assortment of soups including both pho and ramen. The Pho Tau Hu Sate packs a flavour punch with vegetables, rice noodles, bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, jalapeno, lime and tofu served in a house made spicy sate sauce. The Mi Tiem – five spice ramen soup made with dates, lily flowers, lotus root, and mixed vegetables alongside bean curd sleeves, simmered in a flavourful five-spice broth.

Jinya Ramen Bar
Located in Mission, Jinya is a popular spot for authentic ramen. Their large menu caters to many tastes, including vegan options. The Jinya Tonkatsu Original 2010 ramen – pork broth, pork chashu, green onion, spinach, seasoned egg and nori – is served with extra thick noodles.
Shokunin
Another popular spot in Mission is Shokunin, headed up by Chef Darren MacLean. The Shokunin Tori Ramen is made exclusively from the bones of their own free-range yellow fat chickens and includes thigh and breast chashu, spicy miso paste, a 24 hour cured ajitama egg and pickled black mushroom.
Shiki Menya
When there is a line up at lunch time, it usually indicates the restaurant is good. Located in Bridgeland, Shiki Menya is a popular spot for delicious ramen.
Ikusa Izakaya
Another Bridgeland favourite is Ikusa Izakaya. Enjoy a variety of sushi and yakitori, with a few ramen options to enjoy as well. Their Miso Chashu-Men has flavourful miso smoothly blended into their signature pork broth and includes special chashu, two egg halves, green onions and sesame seed dressing.
Wakado Ramen
Located in the Beltline, Wakado has been around since 2018. Their noodles are prepared daily, ensuring freshness in every bowl. The Chili Goma Ramen has a pork broth flavoured with sesame chili sauce, chopped pork chashu, flavoured egg, green onions and menma (fermented bamboo shoots).
