There’s no better way to end the weekend than with a comforting Sunday supper. Restaurants throughout the city offer hearty meals serving up favourites like steak and prime rib. Number of courses and price points vary, making it easy for anyone to enjoy a meal before the work week begins.

Modern Steak

There’s only one restaurant in Calgary serving beef from their own bull… Modern Steak. Enjoy Sunday Supper for 2 for $119. Dinner includes Not Cheese Toast, and your choice of large Caesar salad or house salad. Second course includes a sliced 18oz prime grade Modern Benchmark Alberta beef rib eye served with mashed potatoes and chef’s vegetables. Dinner ends on a sweet note with their baked Alaska.

Nick’s Steakhouse & Pizza
2430 Crowchild Trail N.W.

Nick’s has been around since 1979, right across from McMahon Stadium, proudly using traditional family recipes. They offer a Prime Rib Dinner feature on Sundays for $68 served with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, vegetables, garlic bread and a tossed salad.

Vin Room has a Sunday Supper Series which is available all day at both locations. Their 2-course menu is available for $30 and changes weekly. First course is a choice of soup or salad, and mains include items such as Country Fried Chicken, Battered Fish and Chips, and Kansas City BBQ Pork Ribs.

The Continental
1131 Kensington Rd. N.W.

The whole family can enjoy the Sunday Family Dinner at The Continental, located right in Kensington. This complete dinner, including a bottle of wine, costs $175. The meal includes a crisp Caesar salad, a 20oz AAA rib eye steak, 2 chicken breasts, fresh seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes and their signature sauce. You can add a second bottle of wine for $40.

The Nash

The Nash offers a chef-curated menu every Sunday for Sunday Supper. Spend your day exploring Inglewood before heading to the restaurant for dinner. The cost of the 3-course meal is $59. The menu changes regularly and includes a first, second and third course.

LeVilla

LeVilla, in West Springs, is a traditional steakhouse with global flavours. LeVilla has a three course Prime Rib Dinner every Sunday. Quantities are limited so they encourage you to call ahead and reserve your meal. Dinner includes AAA Alberta prime rib au jus and all the trimmings including mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and house-made Yorkshire pudding. Price depends on the size of the cut with a petite portion at $56, a regular portion at $62, and a generous portion at $68.

Luca

Enjoy a date night special at Luca every Sunday night. At $99 for two people, you can experience a multi-course meal. To start, there is bread service served with shallot butter. Guests can choose a salad to share — a Caesar, fresh burrata with golden beets  or shaved Brussels. The main is an 8oz tenderloin served with Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, Grilled Shrimp, seasonal vegetable and rosemary jus. Dessert is your choice of tiramisu, cannoli, chocolate tart or panna cotta.

Vintage Chopehouse and Tavern

Vintage offers a family-style three-course Sunday Date Night menu for two for $110. Dinner includes your choice of Caesar or garden salad, an 18oz Canada Prime rib eye with two classic sides, and a chocolate brownie with Noto’s vanilla gelato to finish. Choose a glass or bottle of wine from their extensive selection.

Deane House

Enjoy Sunday Supper Club at the historic Deane House built in 1906.  They offer a 5-course tasting menu every Sunday for just $75 per person. It is chef’s choice but has included in the past Confit Alberta Rainbow Trout and Braised Beef Short Rib Wellington with roast beets.

From ranch to table, Notable is committed to local food, always made to order. They offer a 3-course Sunday Supper for $62 which includes a choice of soup or salad, a grilled 8oz Denver steak, peppercorn sauce, roast potatoes, and market vegetables. A weekly featured dessert is also included.
