From small-batch producers to established names, these spots pour plenty of creativity into every bottle and experience.

Calgary’s craft-spirit scene is carving out its own identity, rooted in prairie grains, glacier-fed water and a growing band of distillers pushing creative boundaries. From locally sourced honey liqueurs to barrel-aged rye whisky, the city’s producers are turning premium ingredients and bold ideas into tastings and tours you don’t have to leave town for.

This 2025 Calgary distillery guide celebrates local makers including Confluence Distilling, Bridgeland Distillery, Alberta Distillers and Romero Distilling Co. Each showcases the city’s growing craft spirit scene through tasting rooms, small-batch pours and behind-the-scenes experiences.

Bridgeland Distillery
77 Edmonton Trail NE

Located in Bridgeland (of course), Bridgeland Distillery was founded in 2019. They produce brandy, whisky, grappa, limoncello and more. Bridgeland mills, mashes, ferments, distills, barrel ages and bottles 100% of their products in their Calgary location. They have a tasting room that is open to the public and they offer tours.

Eau Claire Distillery

Diamond Valley (Turner Valley)

While Eau Claire Distillery is located 30 minutes southwest of Calgary, they can be found at both Calgary Farmers’ Markets and Crossroads Market. They now farm 20 acres of their own barley and produce vodka, gin, whiskey, and canned cocktails like gin and tonic, hard iced tea, and dill pickle caesars. Make a day of it and visit them for tastings, tours, and live music events.

True Wild Distilling

True Wild Distilling is a heritage-style distillery and restaurant in Calgary, crafting Canadian malt whisky, gin and vodka on site. They offer guided tours and tastings, a full dining room, and an industrial-chic space where you can watch the distilling process in motion.

Alberta Distillers Limited
1521 34 Ave SE

Alberta Distillers has been in the game since 1946. They are best known for their 100% rye whisky brand. It’s made with 100% Canadian rye grain and aged for a minimum of 5 years. Their product is made from prairie grains grown by farmers who have been working with them for decades and blended with water from the snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains.

Two Rivers Distillery

Named after the Bow and Elbow Rivers, Two Rivers Distillery produces premium products made with local ingredients. The main ingredients, Alberta water and barley, produce a quality spirit that’s made with Canadian-made distilling equipment. The distillery also offers a wide food and drink menu.

Starr Distilling

Starr Distilling is a locally owned and operated craft distillery producing premium small-batch spirits, including vodka, gin and liqueurs. They focus on high-quality ingredients and local flavours, creating spirits that reflect Calgary’s character. Visitors can stop by their tasting room to sample products and learn about their process through guided tours.

Last Best Brewing & Distilling
607 11 Ave SW

Last Best Brewing & Distilling opened in May 2015 and honours Alberta’s “Last Best West” heritage through craft beer, spirits and cuisine. They brew beer and distill gin, vodka and whisky on site, and offer a lively space for tastings, food and drinks.

Romero Distilling Co.

Romero Distilling is a family-owned Calgary rum distillery founded in 2018. Now the city’s largest, they craft award-winning rums using glacier-fed water, fresh spices and Canadian molasses aged in bourbon and cherry casks. Visitors can enjoy tastings, tours and even create their own bottle.

Burwood Distillery

Burwood is an award-winning distillery that specializes in unique hand-crafted honey liqueurs and spirits. They are located at The Stable on the Currie Barracks, built in 1936. They have a taproom and spirit hall, Veranda, where you can try craft cocktails and craft beers. Take home the same bold cocktails in bottles or cans.

Confluence Distilling

Located in Manchester, Confluence Distilling incorporates a micro-distillery and a creative cocktail bar. They produce small-batch spirits like gin, vodka and novelty spirits, and offer tours and tastings.

Troubled Monk Distillery

Originally known for its craft gin, Troubled Monk Distillery has expanded into a broader spirits lineup, offering premium vodka and small-batch whiskeys. Located downtown, the site hosts a tasting room, retail shop and cocktail bar where you can sample their latest creations and discover what’s next from Calgary’s craft-spirit scene.
