Mazza Afghan Cuisine brings the flavours of Afghanistan to downtown Calgary with a menu rooted in comfort and tradition.
Mantu dumplings in tomato and chickpea sauce and flaky leek bolani are reason enough to return.
Mazza Afghan Cuisine
We recently went to catch a Theatre Calgary show and wanted to avoid that last-minute panic of getting in on time. So, we headed to the restaurant space that has been many, many things over the years including Anatolia Turkish Cuisine, the Chicago Chop House, Onyx, Sasa Café and others. Its most recent tenant is Mazza Afghan Cuisine. Always up for trying something new, we were excited to give it a try. We loved the mantu (dumplings), which were tender and flavourful in a zesty tomato sauce with chickpeas. The leek bolani left us wanting more and we’ll definitely be back for it.
