Alberta Distillers recently released its Rare Batch Issue No. 2, the second — in case the name wasn’t obvious — in its Rare Batch series. The new whisky has been aged for 21 years in whisky, bourbon and white oak barrels that have been in the Alberta Distillers warehouses for more than two decades. Bottled at 50 per cent ABV, it has delicious notes of sweet caramel, vanilla and cocoa. One to savour.
