While we’re certainly missing those dreamy pastel walls, that checkerboard black and white floor and that gorgeous vintage-tiled bar, we no longer have to miss the food. Yes, you can now satisfy that craving for Calcutta Cricket Club’s Chili Chicken. As of May 18, the restaurant dove into the takeout scene with both delivery and curbside pick-up.
Like many restaurants forced to shift gears, Calcutta Cricket Club is focusing on its greatest hits. Start with a couple of Tandoori Spiced Chicken Kati Rolls before moving on to the Chili Chicken, an Indo-Chinese small plate of crispy fried chicken tossed in a spicy, sweet-n-salty chili sauce, one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes. From there, try some of their curries (25% off on Mondays!) like the Beef Kosha, braised Alberta beef in a rich tomato yoghurt curry or their Cauliflower Curry made with potatoes, ghee, coconut and an Indian 5 spice called panch phoron. Soak it all up with some garlic naan, made in-house in their tandoor oven.
And when the Calcutta Cricket Club does reopen for patio or dine-in service, we’ll be back in those rattan bar seats, crushable G&T in hand, enjoying those signature tropical vibes. Order online at calcuttacricketclub.com.
