Noble Pie Pizza
You can find New York style pizza at Noble Pie in the Beltline. What started out as a pop-up in a brewery, Noble settled into their own place in 2021 and is as popular as ever. Try their Sweet Cheesus with tomato sauce, aged and fresh mozzarella, caciocavallo (“cheese on horseback”), Grana Padano, pecorino, Sicilian oregano and topped off with Mike’s hot honey.
Il Centro
Il Centro offers a classic Italian dining experience, and their pizzas are a standout. This family-run restaurant has been a Calgary staple for years, almost making them the Godfather of Italian pizza, serving authentic Neapolitan-style pies with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Actually Pretty Good
With two locations in the downtown area, Actually Pretty Good more than lives up to its name and is worth checking out. This family run business imports their toppings, “00” flour and San Marzano tomatoes directly from Italy. If you’re a fan of pineapple on your pizza, their Honolulu Luigi features oven grilled pineapple, crispy pancetta, jalapeno, mozzarella and a honey drizzle.
Pulcinella
You can find true Napoletana pizza made by a certified master chef at Pulcinella in Kensington. Every ingredient, from their Italian double zero flour, cheeses, olive oil, herbs and toppings, meets the Associazione Pizzaioli Napolitani standards.
